BEIJING, March 19(Xinhua) Face mask vendors in China had a bad time in the past winter as improving air quality dampened sales. The decline in sales of smog-related products came as some Chinese cities enjoyed the clearest winter sky in five years thanks to sustained pollution control efforts.

Tianjin to take measures against new round of air pollution

TIANJIN, March 10 (Xinhua) North China's Tianjin Municipality will adopt emergency measures to deal with air pollution. From Sunday, manufacturers in Tianjin will be ordered to cut emissions by at least 50 percent, and an odd-even number plate rule will restrict trucks on the roads.

Fishing Company Punished for Vessel Caught With Dead Sharks

The Ministry of Agriculture has temporarily halted the operations of all 78 distant-water fishing vessels owned by Fujian-based Fuzhou Honglong Ocean Aquatic Products after a refrigerator ship owned by the company was caught in the Galapagos Marine Reserve with thousands of shark carcasses onboard.
