Cambodia unveils 1st water quality monitoring station with China's aid

PHNOM PENH, March 26 (Xinhua) Cambodia inaugurated the first water quality monitoring station with China's aid on Monday near the confluence of the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers in the Diamond Island town.

Beijing tackles water shortage, pollution

BEIJING, March 26 (Xinhua) According to the Beijing Water Authority, there were previously about 140 polluted rivers in the city, 57 of which have been cleaned already. The rest will be cleaned by this year end.

LJUBLJANA, March 29 (Xinhua) Slovenian adventure pilot Matevz Lenarcic will carry out a new scientific environmental exploration and survey with his ultralight plane next month to collect data on black carbon and other polluters.

ADB approves 130 mln USD loan to improve air quality in Ulan Bator

ULAN BATOR, March 27 (Xinhua) The Asian Development Bank's (ADB) Board of Directors has approved a loan of 130 million U.S. dollars to help Mongolia improve public health and reduce air pollution in its capital city, local media reported Tuesday.

SAN FRANCISCO, April 2 (Xinhua) A California-based energy storage company said Sunday that its new long-life sustainable battery system has been installed at the Beijing campus of Etechwin, a subsidiary of world leading Chinese wind turbine manufacturer Goldwind.

Founder of nickel mine sentenced in largest ever environmental crime in Finland

HELSINKI, March 22 (Xinhua) A high court in Rovaniemi, northern Finland on Thursday sentenced Pekka Pera, founder and original director of Talvivaara mining company, to half a year in prison on probation on account of severe environmental pollution.
